There is a nursery for children under the age of 3.

Matt will be preaching his sermon titled ““RSVPing to God’s Grace,” based on the Scripture from the Book of Matthew, Chapter 22, verses 1-14.

Out of sheer grace, everyone is invited to God’s glorious banquet. Each of us have a choice to attend – or not.

The Blessing of the Animals

A dog heavy posse frequented the Cloister last Sunday for our annual Blessing of the Animals! Ministers Kibbie and Matt celebrated these creature’s talents and presented the opportunity for each animal to sit still for a very short period of time. Most were unsuccessful, and the vibrance of the grass, companionship of the animals and joy of the moment instead produced glorious chaos.

Learning Ways to Reconcile

Over 30 people attended a workshop by Sarah Snyder of the Rose Castle Foundation, who provided timely context and insights on why conflict happens and ways to reconcile.


Fall Dinner and Film Series

Thursday, October 19th + 24th. Dinner starts at 5:30pm and film to follow.

What this is:

Dinner and movie nights showing a variety of films in subject and era. On October 19th, come see The Hospital on the big screen in the Calvin Room, starring George C. Scott, who plays a doctor whose family life and hospital are in shambles. Then, something changes.

Spiritual Awakening: Cultivating an Awareness of God

What this is:

This is a morning women’s retreat aiming to deepen our relationship with God.

This is a reminder for those who have signed up. Registration is closed.

Disability Awareness Sunday

Sunday, Oct. 15th, post-worship, The Edwards Room

What this is:

This is an event with activities that are meant to simulate in a simple way what it might be like to live with a challenge with vision, attention, reading, etc. It’s always a memorable experience for those who participate.

How You Can Engage:

After worship, join us during coffee hour for some interactive experiences designed for youth and adults. If you participate in all the stations, you’ll earn a free wrist band!

New Member Class

Sunday, November 5th, 12-1:30pm, Copenhaver Room

If you have been visiting our church and are considering joining our congregation, we invite you to attend this New Member Class, where you will hear about the church denomination and leadership structure, learn more about our many ministries and programs, and get to know some other newcomers too! Attending this class is required for membership, so if interested please register by October 29th.


Organ Dedication Series With Janet Yieh

Janet Yieh will be the second guest in our organ dedication series. She is the newly appointed Director of Music at the Church of the Heavenly Rest in New York City, and she will play a variety works from composers who are female and diverse. For more info about the series, click here.

Choral Vespers for All Saints Sunday

English Tutoring

What this is:
Nazifa Hadizada and her family fled Afghanistan in 2021. She will be at RCB for English tutoring while her youngest child, Nada, attends the morning 2’s class at RCNS three days each week from 8:45am-11:15am.

Community Conversation with Refugee Moms

Fridays beginning Sept. 15th, 9-10:30am, Children’s Library

What this is:

Expand your world by speaking with refugee moms on topics of adjusting to the US and parenting.

How You Can Help:

Sign up to engage with people you might not meet in a normal Bronxville life. Young children welcome.

Broadway Manor Homeless Shelter

Wednesday, October 25th, 12-1pm, 101 South Broadway, Yonkers

What this is:

A chance to sit with and serve homeless men to make their day better.

How You Can Help:

Serve pizza, fruit and cookies and create a sense of fellowship.

Westhab Mobile Food Pantry
Thursday, October 26th, 11:45am – 1pm, Dayspring Community Center, 320 Walnut Street, Yonkers
What this is:
An easy way to use your hands to provide help for those in need.
How You Can Help:
Work to unload pallets of food from Feeding Westchester and distribute to families who are food insecure in the Yonkers community.

Crossing Thresholds Mission Trip Information Session

Sunday, October 29th, 12:15pm – 1pm, Copenhaver Room

What this is:

Meet with Director and former RCB pastor Carter Via and participants from the mission trip in July to learn more about the work and the life-changing experience of establishing deep connections with children and staff of schools in the Kibera Slum of Nairobi.

How You Can Engage:

Simply come to learn.

First Reformed Church of Mount Vernon Soup Kitchen

Sunday, October 29th, 12pm – 1pm, RCB Lower Kitchen (to cook). Monday, Oct. 30, 3:30pm – 5pm (to serve)

What this is:
This is one of our deepest mission efforts. This nearby church serves over 100 meals a week to people in need.
How You Can Help:
Sign up to prep a meal or travel to the church to organize and serve the meals yourself. A great family activity.


Contemplative Tuesdays
Tuesdays, 9-10am, Via Zoom, open to women and men.
What this is:
Conversations revolving around reflections in the devotional book, “A Guide to Prayer for all who Seek God”. Weekly themes encourage us in our own daily experiences of seeking to walk with God in ever more fruitful and faithful ways.

Yale Bible Study

Sundays, 9:30-10:15am and Wednesdays, 9-10am (Copenhaver Room).

What this is:

A chance to dig deeper into the sermon text. Rev. Kibbie Laird will lead a study with the help of Yale’s best professors who will be guides through a description of the passage. The group unpacks where the preacher takes us, and discusses the takeaway message for that sermon passage.

How You Can Engage:

Dive into understanding the lessons of the Bible in a whole new way. Designed for beginners to intermediate Bible scholars.

Thursdays, 9-10:15am, the Calvin Room
What this is:
RCB Member Gretchen Pingel will meet you in the Calvin Room to lead you a variety of yoga poses.
How You Can Help:
Try a class! All ages and levels welcome and mats and props provided. $25 drop in fee for a single class or $200 for a 10 class card. Reach out to Gretchen using the button at left for questions or to register.

Working Men’s Group

Starting Fridays, September 15th, 7am – 7:45am, Calvin Room

What this is:

This is a call to busy men to offer a time of fellowship.

How You Can Engage:

Before the call, dropping off the kids or hopping on the train, come for a time of fellowship and a deepening of our spiritual lives.

Bibles, Books and Faith Conversations
October 26th, 9:15-10:45am, The Copenhaver Room (Doors open at 9).
What this is:
A designated monthly gathering for women of all ages. Our focus and content will vary and might include book discussions, explorations of Bible texts, and mutual sharing about our faith journeys.

Have a friend who wants to restart church in their lives who has a Catholic background and feels conflicted? We at RCB have repeatedly met people who feel unsure about what to do next.
