This Week @ RCB
– Thursday, December 14th, 2023 –
This is the third week of Advent and the theme is joy.
RCB Kids Church School meets.
Please check in pre-service in the Narthex.
There is a nursery for children under the age of 3.
You can view the 10:30am service via livestream here.
Preaching: Matt Waterstone
Pastor Matt will be preaching is sermon titled “Standing in Line with Jesus,” based on the Scripture found in John, Chapter 1, Verses 6-8, 19-28.
As John baptizes people in the Jordan River, Jesus stands in line unrecognized by the crowds. Would we recognize him?
Liturgist: Kibbie Laird
HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEK
The Nativity Story Gets Told
Last Sunday, RCB hosted its Christmas Gift Service where the story of Jesus’ birth came to life, and over 40 presents were collected for kids who live at Park Ledge in Yonkers.
Confirmands Become Members
On Sunday, the largest class of students in decades got confirmed in our Sunday service. A ceremony followed where Mentors read beautiful blessings about their Confirmands to celebrate this important step in these spiritual lives.
Sponsoring A Christmas Poinsettia
Each year, we ask for people to buy a poinsettia in honor of a loved one, to be placed on the Chancel steps on Christmas Eve. We hope you’ll consider taking part of this beautiful tradition. To do so, click here and select the dropdown referencing poinsettias. Then mention who you are donating it for in the notes.
