Black History Month Event: Churchwide Read and Discussion of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”

In commemoration of Black History Month, this Sunday at 3:00pm we are holding the second of two events open to all church members and friends of any age.

Composed almost 58 years ago, this personal and prophetic letter, originally handwritten by Dr. King while in solitary confinement, raises questions and critiques that still speak to churches and our wider society today.

No RSVP necessary. Discussion co-facilitated by Pastor Sam and RCB member James Briggs Murray, a former curator at New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Please read the letter before—it’ll take about 30 minutes—and join us.
