Ways to Honor Loved Ones
There are several ways to honor or commemorate the life of a loved one, or to mark a special occasion.
Chancel Flowers – Almost every Sunday, year-round, family members and friends arrange for flower arrangements to be placed near the pulpit, choir pews or the Lord’s Table. We list the honorees and givers in the Sunday bulletin. For information, contact Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org, ext. 116.
Christmas Poinsettias – Each Advent, anyone interested may arrange for a poinsettia to be placed on the Chancel steps on Christmas Eve. Forms are included in the bulletins in the weeks prior, as well as in the Messenger newsletter. All givers and honorees are listed in the Christmas Eve bulletin.
Easter Lilies – During Lent, anyone interested may arrange for Easter lilies to be placed on the Chancel steps on Easter morning. Forms are included in the bulletins in the weeks prior, as well as in the Messenger newsletter. All givers and honorees are listed in the Easter bulletin.
Make a Donation – Many choose to make a one-time or recurring donation in a loved one’s name to one our specialized church funds, or the general fund. Special funds include:
- The Deacon’s Fund, assisting individuals with emergency needs
- The Music Enhancement Fund, providing flexibility in worship and concert performances
- The Scholarship Fund, helping college- and seminary-bound students
- The Lee J. Corbett Handbell Fund, supporting our handbell choirs
