| Itching to Knit | |
Are you itching to knit? Wishing to stitch? Join us for a new knitting/stitching/snacking group! Bring your handwork from home, or take part in making prayer shawls with us for those in need. Even if you’re a beginner, you’ll discover the relaxing & meditative quality of knitting, and the fun of doing it with others. Our goal is to share the love of creating as well goodwill and lighthearted rapport. Prayer shawls are traditional forms of praying for others in a tangible, physical way. It's one thing to say "I'm praying for you," but another to hand someone a physical object that constitutes an entire process of prayer! Any skill level is welcome and members of the group will share their knowledge and skill with novices. Two times available, both in the Copenhaver room: Thursdays at 11am–12:30pm, and Fridays at 5-6:30pm. Sign up with Melissa Shinsato (mshinsato@verizon.net) for the Thursday time, and Liz Keveney (ekeveney@yahoo.com) for the Friday time. Come unwind with us! |

| Tuesday Book Club | |
Tuesday's 7:00 - 8:30pm Copenhave Room Searching for Home: Spirituality for Restless Souls Barnes draws on Dante’s pilgrimage as a parallel to our own search for paradise.Barnes begins with the disconcerting news that paradise is lost and we can’t go home again. Our great comfort and hope, however, is that we are never lost to God: in fact, he travels with us in our sojourning and all roads belong to him. Barnes, a compassionate pastor and scholar, shows how we can move from being transient nomads to pilgrims who are at home with God.” Please purchase the book ahead of time, and read chapters 1 & 2 in advance. |
