Play is the legitimate work of the child.

At RCNS, our curriculum is solidly based on the concept that play is the legitimate work of the young child.  Our program and facilities offer a stimulating variety of individual and group experiences designed to promote and encourage exploration and discovery, creativity, self-confidence, and social interaction through participation - key building blocks for later success.

Our curriculum includes music, math, writing, literature, science, art, cooking, creative movement, and field trips. Daily playtime is scheduled year-round on our outdoor playgrounds or indoor gyms, where children are grouped by age.  Children learn to get along with one another, take turns, share, settle disagreements and work independently.

Children experience, express, and enjoy their own creativity.  Children express their own creative interpretation as a response to any stimulus they perceive through their senses and at their own pace.  Process, not product is important for children.  Our goal is for children to feel loved, valuable and competent human beings.

"Learning that first takes place in pretend play forms the basis for later intellectual and social developments".

At RCNS, we firmly believe that our children learn best through play.  Our teachers are the facilitators of play in the classroom providing the children with different materials, centers and experiences to foster learning and life skills.

The following are the list of goals for the school year.  Always remember that every child learns at his or her own pace.
