We are helping to build duplex dwellings in Yonkers in partnership with Habitat For Humanity. No construction experience necessary -- just roll up your sleeves and do some hard, rewarding work. You will receive supervision at the site. If you have them, bring basic tools. Wear work gloves and sturdy shoes.

Westhab Saturday Playgroup

Families participate in this outreach program. We support the Domestic Violence Program of Yonkers by organizing recreation and crafts in the church gymnasium; by taking families on outings to the Zoo, museums and shows; and by organizing Christmas events and play dates.
We work not only with those in the domestic violence residence, but also with those from The Nodine Hill Neighborhood Center.

AIDS Meal Delivery (Monday-Thursday)

Deliver meals to homebound persons living with AIDS in Yonkers and Mt. Vernon. Teams of two (or more) people make 10-12 stops one day per week. You or your partner provide the vehicle.

Midnight Run (See Monthly Calendar)

Take food, clothes, and conversation to homeless people in Manhattan. Receive hospitality, friendship and often, a new outlook on life in return! Volunteers arrive in the church parking lot at 9:00 p.m., load the van with clothes, food, toiletries and other items, and travel into New York City to distribute these items and share time with people on the streets. We typically make 10-12 stops and return. anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. (whenever the food runs out). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO ON THE RUNS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROGRAM! We also need support people who can make sandwiches, sort clothes, and help us get ready.

Clothing Closet (Monday mornings 10:00 am-Noon)

Organize and sort donated clothing. The Clothing Closet is closed during the summer months.

Soup Kitchen (Last Wednesday of Month)

Serve lunch at the Sharing Community in Getty Square, Yonkers. This is a ministry to homeless and low-income people. Involves cooking beforehand in the Congregational Hall kitchen.

Mission Trips- (Summer and Holidays, 7-14 Days)

Keep your eyes on the church news for our next Mission Trip experience!
