Sundays, August 6, 13, 20, 4:00-5:00pm, Copenhaver Room. For centuries, the Book of Ecclesiastes has spoken boldly to skeptics and doubters, singers (chapter 3 inspired Pete Seeger to write “Turn! Turn! Turn!”) and writers (Shakespeare’s Sonnet 59 is rooted in this part of Scripture, as is the title of Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises). It offers immense practical wisdom, and its writer did not wear rose-colored glasses. Our seminarian, Jeff Chu, whose favorite book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes, will guide us in drawing out some of its lessons.
