Join us for a free concert of harpsichord masterworks in the candlelit Edwards Room, performed by our Minister of Music, Dr. Sándor Szabó.
A “triple threat” on the organ, piano and harpsichord, Sándor will perform works written in the 16th through the 20th centuries by the most prominent harpsichord composers.
Selections include Bach’s Italian Concerto, Haydn’s Sonata in D, Couperin’s Suite No. 18, Frescobaldi’s Toccata, Sweelinck’s Echo Fantasy, as well as three sonatas by Scarlatti.
Come and experience these masterworks as they were originally intended in a magical candlelight setting. These works will be performed on an instrument designed by the top American builder Frank Hubbard. A double manual harpsichord, it is based on the historic instruments of Pascal Taskin, the 18th-century builder from France.
